Dear Cuddles Customer (past, present and some yet to visit!),
Here we are at that time of the year again, with summer over and a hectic Christmas approaching.
Our Year 2016 has been a busy year at Cuddles with many repeat customers and many new customers too. Blackie, one of the first cats ever to board here (in August 2005) is still coming here for his holidays! While sadly his brother isn’t around any longer, it is great to see Blackie and many other cats continue to holiday here year after year.
We’ve had many guests coming to stay at Cuddles for the first time this year. Many of these “first-timers” are young cats and full of fun and frolics, and they certainly keep me on my toes. When there are youngsters staying I can often be found kneeling on the floor playing with them, while they look down from their viewing platforms! Not all “first-timers” have been in the first flushes of youth though. It is wonderful to see older cats whose circumstances have changed being offered new homes too.
Our New Addition In August one of our (human) customers died suddenly and prematurely. She had nine gorgeous pet cats, all of whom used to board at Cuddles, so they were well known to us. We made some space here for them in order to give them a bit of time to find new homes. Their names are Millie, Buddy, Mr. No Name (because nobody knows his name), Zoe, Sammy, Heidi, Sally, Molly and Dolly.
Dolly was the first of these cats to make a real play for me. I decided I would try to integrate her into our family and if it was okay with Ted and Dougal then it would be okay with me. She’s here twelve weeks now and it is very much okay with all of us. In fact it would be hard to imagine the house without her. We added a bit to her name and “Dolly-Doyle” (our Tea Lady) is our new addition. You can read more of Dolly-Doyle’s story here http://www.cuddlescattery.ie/catmews/dollydoyle
We are delighted to report that all nine cats have now been re-homed and their early stories are on our website. We are in the process of getting updates from all their new families, which we’ll publish on our website and Facebook soon.
If you would like to give a cat or kitten a home please check with us… we often know of cats and kittens looking for purrfect homes. This little champ Ziggy was rehomed through Cuddles. He won two cups at his first show soon afterwards!
On a serious note, please don’t forget to make provision for your pets should something in the future happen which prevents you from looking after them yourself.
Christmas/New Year Bookings We are in the process of finalising bookings for the festive season. If you have booked you cat in here for Christmas/New Year but have not yet confirmed the dates or if there is a change to your booking please let us know as soon as possible. We’ll be ordering the turkey soon!
We’re taking a short break: We decided to take a short break this winter. We closed on 22nd November and will reopen ready for action on Saturday next, 3rd December. We’re considering taking another break in spring, (probably 6th to 16th February) so anyone who is considering boarding their cats in February please let us know as soon as possible. Thanks.
2017 Calendars As usual we’ll be selling calendars in aid of Galway Cat Rescue. They should be with us any day now. Anyone interested please get your orders in as soon as possible. We can post the calendars to you for €10 (incl P&P) or they may be collected here for just €8 each. Every single cent raised from the sale of these calendars goes to rescuing and TNR (trap, neuter, returning) needy cats of Galway. Please join us in supporting this worthy cause.
Thank You As always I would like to thank you for your continued custom and support. I am truly grateful for your business and I feel privileged to be “Aunty Mu” to your precious felines. Hope to see many of you again soon.
Love, purrs and hisses from Muriel, Ted, Dougal and Dolly-Doyle.
